Woodlands Road 2.0

Following IWA's approval of a smaller house on the site the felling of a neighbouring Ash tree allowed for a re think of how best to utilise the space. Pushing the scheme towards the north west corner lets an L shop plan maximise the southern aspect while creating a pleasant and welcoming open courtyard. The low lying semi subterranean bedroom wing ensured the scheme has minimal impact on the local backland character whilst still providing a generous footprint, a judgment the planners came to agree with. The main space however does utilise a subservient trapezium form that still minimise local visual impact whilst creating a generous vaulted space within.
