The lay of the lane across this site allowed for a design of a large family home that eternally appeared more akin to a garden studio with the bedrooms being located in the semi subterainain lower ground floor. The main living space on the upper ground floor created a strong relationship to the external amenity space and thus a very pleasant and thoughtout layout. The overall resultwas a large dwelling that did not become too dominant over overbearing - and so preserved the character of the conservation area. A conclusion agreed on by the planners.
