A discreet house to replace a double garage in a residential backland setting

This garden  was oversized for the host dwelling. As such the opportunity presented itself to replace a rear double garage with a new house, the challenge being to do this in such a way that the character the backland setting was not harmed. Teh design solution was then to have the new house refelct the character its garage predisessor for the main part of the living accommodation, with an additional semi subterainian garden wing added on to proivde the sleeping accommodation.
